The hottest thing on the web of the moment, hotter even than Cebit. It’s the place to be if you want to be in touch with the future Web2.1 .

On the speakers list, too many to mention: David Hansson from 37signals(the guy who built Rails), Joel Spolsky, Kathy Sierra, Ray Ozzie, Linda Stone, and.. geez, too many more to write about in a couple of minutes time. In a few words, just drop by their site and look what’s all about. They have wikis, blogs, tutorials and presentations from the sessions, so it’s a great ressource pool of what ideas will be hot in the future.

Here are some of the cool links on the stuff these guys talk about:

  • Danah Boyd talking about G/localization , embedded observation and the problems issuing from various cultures using one’s site. It’s a critical point nowadays(after all the Islamic riot against Denmark coming from some unpublished cartoons) and worth quite a lot of thought…
  • Web 2.0 is the writable web - pretty interesting idea; I do think too that it’s not about the tools (javascript, ajax) nor about the design. It’s about people publishing their stuff and making it available to the world, *where they want it*. Be it thoughts(in blogs), links(delicious), photos(flickr), videos(youtube) or music(lastfm).
  • People Three is fine; two, divine
  • Great things are made by people who share a passion, not by those who have been talked into one
  • Build the simplest thing possible
  • Start with nothing, and have nothing for as long as possible
  • ….
